Term 3 2016
Term 3 has a been a fantastic learning term for Stage 1!
This term we have been learning about Imaginary Texts for writing. We have been reading a variety of fictional story books and creating our own exciting stories. In maths we have been learning about a variety of topics and continuing to work hard to develop our numeracy skills during TEN time where we engage in all kinds of hands on activities.
We have spent a lot of time this term researching and learning about our favourite places around the world. We completed interest based projects about these places and shared new information with our classmates.
We had a fantastic day earlier this term at the Athletics Carnival. Most Stage 1 students participated in an Athletics Day at school and the 8-year-old Year 2 students went with the 3-6 students to the carnival to compete at events.
The Book Parade and Pyjama Day were 2 fun events that we enjoyed this term. We had so much fun dressing as our favourite book characters and coming to school in our pyjamas. In week 10 we have a PBL mufti day and Side Show Alley to look forwards to.
Thank you everybody for a fantastic Term 3
Term 1 2016
It has been a very busy start of the year in stage 1. The students settled into their new classes 1K (Miss Kyriacou), 1W (Miss Wannous), 2J (Ms Jade) and 2B (Mrs Beadle) and were very eager to start learning!
This term we have been learning about persuasive texts in English and covered a variety of topics in Mathematics. We were very excited to start the Footsteps Dance Program for sport. It's great to see so many students eagerly participating and having so much fun.
There have been many whole school events already. In week 9 we had Harmony Day. Students attended a multicultural drumming performance where each student was able to participate by playing a drum. We also had an Easter egg hunt and the Easter hat parade.
We are looking forward to our first excursion of the year in week 11 this term. We will be attending Vaucluse House to coincide with our History unit of work.
Well done on a positive start to the year everybody!
