Support Unit News

Term 3 2016

This term students in the support unit have been busy developing their gross motor, social and team work skills through the tenpin bowling program.

Classes K-2W, 1-2M and 2-6G have thoroughly enjoyed cooking lessons. Students senses where excited by smelling and tasting a variety of food.  Students learnt how to write a shopping list, purchase ingredients, read, write and follow a procedure. Zucchini slice, chicken burgers, lamingtons, cupcakes and happy face biscuits, yummy!

3-6HR and 5-6S participated in a Science incursion about Natural Disasters. Students had the opportunity to interact with a range of experiments which demonstrated the severity of types of natural disasters and the impact which they can have on the natural environment and humanity.

Term 1 2016

The Support Unit has had a fabulous first term of 2016 and was very excited to welcome Miss Gill back to the school.

We congratulate Roajah, Lucius, Anthony N and Filtomas on their successful nominations to the Belmore North PS SRC and know that they will be great representatives for their school.

KW has welcomed new students into kindergarten and they are all enjoying their time at school, learning the routines and participating in school events.

Students from 1/2M and 3-6G had a great time participating in the Footsteps dance program and developing their fitness and movement skills during Friday Sport.

3-6HR and 5/6S had lots of fun learning about the colonisation and foundation of Australia and the traditional owners of the land.

Students had a fun (and tiring!) two weeks participating in an intensive Learn to Swim program, developing their strokes, water safety and lifesaving skills.

Everyone is looking forward to a restful holiday before we have a busy Term Two!
