Term 3 2016
Stage 2 have been working hard this term. We have been studying music and we learnt about pitch, tempo and rhythm, using our voices and body percussion. We have started writing information reports and learning a lot about different animals. We also went to Rudd Park for our Athletics carnival and some of us made it to Zone! We enjoyed open day and loved showing our parents and visitors all the work we have done in our classrooms. Just this week we had our music incursion where we were asked to compose a piece of music on our own. Some of the performances sounded really good! And we are really looking forward to SideShow Alley and PBL Launch day next week.
3/4H said goodbye and good luck to Ms Halwani as she began her maternity leave. They weren't too upset, however, as 3/4H welcomed Mr Beh back to Stage 2! Mrs Fraser will be saying her goodbye on the last day of this term, and 4F are excited to meet Miss Gasparinatos, who will be teaching 4F in Term 4.
We are looking forward to another great term next term, even though we know it will be busy, with assessments, reports, swimming carnivals, presentation days, end of term excursions, and the list goes on....
Term 1 2016
It has been a great start to the year for Stage 2. Our year 3 students have been busy preparing for Naplan and are keen to improve. As a stage, we have been learning about Australian history and Australian Fauna and Flora. Students are beginning to understand why the journey of exploration occurred and what the consequences were for Aboriginal people. Stage 2 have completed some fascinating artwork based on the Fauna and Flora we have been learning about.
We have an upcoming excursion on Thursday the 17th of March, where stage 2 will be attending the Royal Agricultural show where they will participate in a variety of educational experiences furthering their knowledge of the role of agriculture.
Stage 2 is looking forward to Harmony Day which falls during Week 11 on Monday the 21st of March. Students will have the opportunity to play drums from different cultures.
Well done Stage 2 on a productive start to this year!
